bought a new mobo and just fitted my old processor on to it find but the problem is that my old heatsink wont fit on the new motherboard. any surgestion on what i should do?

Get one that does fit?

xoxide.com has a pretty good selection, as should many online sellers.

it could prob make this one fit if i filed off the edge? would that damage it to much?

You could do that, but be very careful not to nick or otherwise damage the milled surface that fits to the processor.

all im going to attemp to do is file off half of the bit the sticks out on both sides to make it fit.
