This is how my keyboard is typing...

without correcting the errors.

I have an HP Laptop.
Thanks

You mean it types a random bracket? Or, changes the case to all caps?

both. It's driving me insane. It won't type the letter after p either. I've tried uninstalling it & the driver several times & it doesn't work.

Virus? Did you try to run a live virus scan on it?

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

gives you that option.

If it's the old type of keyboard you would need an adapter.
(looks kinda like PS/2 only bigger)

Try a different keyboard. A new one can cost as little as $10.

If it still does that, well you got something screwing with your computer.

I fried a keyboard one shocking day. Spark jumped from my finger to in-between the keys.
After that certain keys on the same channel only printed out jibberish.

Ok, so I've done the virus scan, called HP with no help~they couldn't figure it out either but I did a system restore and the laptop keyboard is still screwed up. I finally got an adaptor to use my old keyboard and it's typing perfect.
So what do I need to do to get my laptop keyboard to work? Again, I've tried uninstalling the driver and keyboard several times and it still didn't work. :tazz:

I'd like to use my laptop as a laptop and not have to carry around another keyboard.

You probably need to have HP replace the keyboard. Is it under warranty?
