Hey,

First time poster to this forum here, so im not sure if this is the right spot to post this kinda issue, but a friend directed me to this site to get help.
So here's my issue.
Whenever i upload a file to a server (through ftp), my cpu slowly goes higher and higher till it reaches a maxing of 100% and it stays there till the upload is finished. This happends regardless of if i use IE or smartFTp or any other of those programs. Also my speed starts at about 70 kb/s then drops to about 10 kb/s .. my upload speed averages 60 kb/s .. so its a big drop. If i set up a server on my comp and allow people to download from my computer, it has the same effect as when i upload to another server.

Now if i set up a webserver on my comp and allow someone to download a file through the webserver, i get no problems at all. The speed goes at a nice 60 kb/s, and my cpu has normal cpu usage. Same thing happends if i upload a file through msn.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this issue. So far i've only noticed its happened on port 21.

I run windows xp pro service pack 2
intel P4 2.8 HT
512 ram

Thanks in advance for you responses

Try disabling (or even uninstalling) ZoneAlarm, and see if the problem persists.
