Help! Steam and my steam games wont start!

Can anyone help me? I had steam for a while and played counter strike condition zero, condition zero deleted scenes, and 1.6 and they worked fine . . . for a while. Then, few days ago, steam and all the steam games wouldn't launch. I've been combing the web and I just can't find a solution. Maybe it's a virus, spyware, malware, a trojan? I don't know. Please help!

what exactly is happening? Are you getting any specific error messages?

It's strange but, somehow, it works fine now. I think it's because I deleted all my downloads and did a virus scan? Thankyou for trying to help my problem though, I really appreciate it.
