It says,

"Hard-disk #157K1H8D8RH-A95B, the stystem Primary HDD, is protected by a password authentification system. You cannot access data on this hard drive without the correct password."

Now I have no idea what the pass is. Is there a default one I can use?

This Laptop is a -

Dell Inspiron 1100
BIOS Revision A27

Any help would be appreciated...

You have a few way, one call Dell and prove your ownership, then they can provide the master password for your hdd.
second, ask somebody to generate the master password for money, like www.spunlock.com
third, is to find hdd data recovery firm, but their prices is expensed as twice.
