Fade to white?

My boyfriend is having issues with his screen. On occasion, it will go white and he will not be able to see anything but a white screen with little stripes of different colors...kinda like he's running a defrag. It will not do this if he is holding the screen. We do realize that this is a connection issue..but how would we tighten the connection for the laptop lid/LCD screen to the connection. Not only that, some of the screws just fall out from the bottom... :whistling:

What on EARTH?? (meant for emphasis...not yelling)

*EDIT* Now there is a thin blue line on the left hand side of the screen..I'm confuzzled on this...

Messing with a laptop screen (or any other internal bits) is not recommended unless it's a spare laptop you want to use to see how it's put together, and you can afford to be without if you make things worse. Take it in to laptop repair shop or send it by parcel post. Just google "laptop repairs" and you'll find many such places.
