computer making beeping noise when booting up

Ok i have a very strange problem. I have a hp pav 503n. These days when i boot up the computer, i hear a continuous beeping sound for about 2 minutes i believe. Then the noise goes off and my monitor stays blank/black. Does anyone know what i should do.

that usually indicates bad memory or video.

I agree with pip22...listen to the beep codes...check at the link he provided you and see what they say is the problem...it may be simple to fix..
