Hi Jadesportster,

First thing to do,is to move HijackThis to a Permanent Folder, simplest way:

Click Start>>>Click My Computer>>>Click Local Disk (C:)>>>Right Click in the New Window that Opened and Select New>>>Select Folder>>>Name it whatever you like!

Move HijackThis to that Folder!

Now for a question,The 017 in HijackThis:
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{5EB53749-4F0E-47A1-ACF8-F91ABE499F72}: NameServer = 206.74.254.2 204.116.57.2

Do those IP Addresses look correct to you?
206.74.254.2
or
204.116.57.2

Please let me know!

Forum Rules, prevent me from fixing anything until HijackThis is Placed in a Permanent Folder!

I hate it,but we must follow the rules, they are there for a good reason!

OK,Lets get busy!!!

While Online,Go to Add\Remove Programs and Remove:

WildTangent CDA
WeatherBug

Unregister these DLLs,to do this:

Click Start>>>Click Run>>>Copy&Paste the Text below into the Text Box and Click OK!

regsvr32 /u AUNPS2.DLL
If you get an error message, try it like this:
regsvr32 /u C:\WINDOWS\system32\AUNPS2.DLL

Open HijackThis and put a check by these but DO NOT hit the Fix Checked button yet!

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winupdtl] C:\WINDOWS\System32\winupdt.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AUNPS2] RUNDLL32 AUNPS2.DLL,_Run@16

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\GameDrvr.exe" /startup "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0500.dll"

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Weather] C:\PROGRA~1\AWS\WEATHE~1\Weather.EXE 1

O9 - Extra button: WeatherBug - {AF6CABAB-61F9-4f12-A198-B7D41EF1CB52} - C:\PROGRA~1\AWS\WEATHE~1\Weather.exe (HKCU)

Now Make sure ALL WINDOWS and BROWSERS are CLOSED and hit the Fix Checked Button!!

Reboot into SAFE MODE(Tap F8 when restarting)
Here is a link on how to boot into Safe Mode:
http://service1.syma...src=sec_doc_nam

After restarting in Safe Mode,Configure Windows to Show All Hidden Files and Folders, this must be done after restarting in Safe Mode!!
Here is a link to help with that:
http://www.bleepingc...showtutorial=62

Locate and Delete Files or Folders listed in Bold Print:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\AUNPS2.DLL<<< File Only!

C:\WINDOWS\System32\winupdt.exe<<< File Only!

C:\Program Files\WildTangent<<< Entire WildTangent Folder!

C:\Program Files\AWS<<< Entire AWS Folder!

When finished, reboot your system again and bring it back up in normal mode. Run MSCONFIG and enable everything in the startup area. To get to MSCONFIG, click on Start -> Run -> type in MSCONFIG -> click OK.

Make Sure Normal Startup is Checked!!

Select the tab labeled Startup and put a Check by every box there!! Once everything is enabled, run "Hijack This!" and post a new log to this thread!!

Here is a link explaining:

Cool.
Things seem to be better now that I followed your directions. There was no C:\WINDOWS\System32\winupdt.exe<<< File Only!

but there was a \winupdt008.bin file which I deleted along with the other system32 file you told me to delete.

here is my new log and thanks again...

That log looks fine to me,lets be sure that file is gone!

Click Start>>Click Run>>Type in CMD

Once the Command Prompt window is Open, type in these Commands just as I have them listed:

1.cd C:\

2. del C:\WINDOWS\System32\winupdt.exe

3.Close out the Command Prompt Window!!

Let me know if you receive any error messages!

Once Completed, have the PC scanned here:
http://support.f-sec.../home/ols.shtml

Post the results of that scan here!
