sATA Detected but not appearing in windows.

Hey guys.

I got a new HDD, sATA 500gb Western Digital...
it does not come up in device manager but not in my computer as in the window..

Add hardware says its working fine. but i still cant see it.. any help please?

Did you format your new hd (has it got the file system FAT or NTFS)?
You can do it in Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Dosk Management->Format on right click
Also Disk Director can do it easy and fast.

Ah sorry i meant it wouldnt come up in device manager.. sorry..
but im getting disk director atm.. thanks alot i will get back :whistling:

I went into control panel/admin tools/ device manager/ storage/ format
