My DVD drive (listed in the topic) is supposed to be able to burn and read both + and - DVD's. I've had the computer for just over a year (brand new from Dell) and I never tried to read DVD's until now.

It reads some DVD's and not others. All of these DVD's are store bought and read fine in regular DVD players.
When I check my drive in explorer there are no files visible.
The files are visible for DVD's that do read.
I have the latest firmware and I have tried uninstalling the drive and restarting the computer.
The light on the DVD drive flashes slowly then the drive appears to shut down.
Any advice, besides don't buy dell?
