computer wont boot

my computer freezes after the windows xp loading screen.. i just see an empty black screen. i tried running safe mode but it freezes. before all this i was browsing someones friendster when my comp started to drag. i saw files being loaded by the browser so i tried to exit but everything froze. i dunno if this is why my comp wont boot, it could be something else i did...

can someone help me?

two ideas then, restore form command prompt, or repair with xp cd, both links below,
