Hi.

I got my computer back in 2003 and can play BF2 more or less well if I tone everything down in the video options. However, I'd really like to get the most out of the game and play online without having to worry about my opponents that I can't see in the distance because I have low visibility on to reduce lag.

Would updating my graphics card's drivers or something help (my friend did this for me once and my monitors stopped displaying anything which forced me to reformat my PC) ? What else can I do to run the game a little more smoothly?

Thank you for your continuous help, Geeks!

It's a Dell. :whistling:

The requirements for Battlefield 2:

# Microsoft Windows XP (32-bit version) with Administrator rights
# 1.7 GHz or faster processor
# 512 MB or more RAM
# Supported 128 MB video card with the newest manufacturer drivers

Recommended:
# 1 GB or more RAM
# Supported 256 MB video card with the newest manufacturer drivers

You only have 512Mb of memory so more of that would definitely help. A trip to ati.com to grab the latest drivers (yours are three years old) would also help.

I'm not willing to spend any money, so I guess I won't be upgrading my hardware.

Can I have instructions on how to update my drivers?

Everything you need is there :whistling:

However this will make a slight difference, not major. Its worth doing though, but you really could do with the memory.

Since you have pretty low system specs, you might wanna try the BF2 Tweaker 1.0. It doesn't work well with very good systems, but its worth a shot for you.
