I recently bought a used computer (Emachines D2685) and am having problems with the usb hubs. I have plugged in a printer, digital camera and a card reader and the computer doesnt recognize any of them. I uninstalled all of their software. None of the hubs work. There are four on the back and two on the front. I have updated drivers and uninstalled and reinstalled them. I am a beginner and this is all I know to do. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Pamela

Hi centre chickadee, welcome to Geeks to Go! Emachines are well known for losing the USB functionality, you will most likely have to buy an add on USB card and install it in an open PCI slot. Just curious, does your sound work? Most likely the previous owner had the power supply go out and it took out the USB ports. Usually when this happens on Emachines the sound will go out also, so if you have no sound on this computer you will need an add on PCI soundcard also.
