Im having some problems with windows XP it lags way to much when I try to shut down the computer and takes a while to load up. It's also been restarting on its own and when the computer is finally loaded up my wallpaper on the desktop is gone an "The System Has recovered from a serious error" message is displayed.

When i bought my computer it didnt come with a windows XP disc, because it had windows xp already pre-installed in the machine and on another drive. so I dont have the disc to repair any problems.. I was wondering if theres anyway I can repair windows without using the disc

What should I do?
