I was installing Ubuntu and I accidentally deleted the Windows NTFS partition...

So...

Is there any free utility I can use to recover the files? I ran a scan with a demo version of a software program and it displayed 20k files I could reinstall.

Thank you.

Try Recuva
But if you want to recover the hole partition then I advise you 3rd party disk management software (like Disk Director). it isn't free, but it works well and your data will be in safety.
