My point is that there is a MALWARE forum for hijack logs---this is not it.

That said, your log looks ok....

Have you uninstalled then reinstalled Messenger?

What message does Messenger give when it crashes?

Start > run, type
eventvwr.msc
enter

Look for Red Xs that occur about the time of the crash to see if we can find related issues.

Yes, I have uninstalled it and re-installed it several times. When it is about to start I mean after asking login id pass and everything , it gives this message that is from windows xp I think not from messenger "YAHOO! MESSENGER HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE> WE ARE SORRY FOR INCOVENIENCE" and ask to send error report to microsoft all that. Now if u can figure out the problem I will be very greatful to you.

I sometimes lose track of threads...this looks like one of them.

lokesh_rh, my apologies...does the problem still exist?
info2sri, it is best to start your own thread....similar problems are not always similar.

Please do the following
try to start yahoo messenger
start > run
eventvwr.msc
look for red xs in apllications and systems, report all at that time

In the meantime, check this out

gerryf,

My issue is same as lokesh_rh experiencing. From the eventvwr.exe I could decipher that Ypager.exe was crashing with following error message.

Faulting application ypager.exe, version 6.0.0.1922, faulting module ypager.exe version 6.0.0.1922, fault address 0x0000fe6c

Also I looked into the alternative solution of installing Java based YM for instant communication. I dont think it will serve my purpose.

I has the same probleme.
Try to download a newer version of Macromedia Flashplayer for Internet Explore from www.macromedia.com, in my case thaths resolve the problem.
I think, your flash.ocx file older than the ypager want to use.

Hi friends,
I had problem because of remaining logged in while I logged out from messenger. But new messenger wasnt giving that error so I found this by installing older version and tried to log out by those messengers but couldnt logged out.
So I used trillian and became successful in logging out........now everythign is fine......So I recommend to use trillian when you all have problem in logging into yahoo messenger as trillian give if there cause of the problem.

Now I stop this here thread here. Thanks to all of you for your valuable support and suggestions.

Hey guys, i worked out an easy solution.

your Yahoo Messenger is crashing i think because of a problem with your flash.ocx file. what i did was i searched my computer for my flash.ocx file, when i found it, it was roughly 768kb.. next to it was a file called swflash.ocx which was 400kb, realising that the flash.ocx file wasn't functioning i played around a little and renamed flash.ocx to flash.ocx.bak, then copied the swflash.ocx file and renamed it flash.ocx.

this way i've got 2 of the same file doing different jobs, it fixed my Yahoo Messenger crash-on-start problem.

the older versions didn't use shockwave, this is why i think the olderversions are fine.
