Mouse not working, can't fix spyware problem

I was trying to fix a problem with windows XP using your site, http://www.geekstogo...12473-s165.html, was reccomended to use my windows cd to repair windows, went through that whole process of reinstalling the files. The next time i acessed windows, my mouse didnt work and hasnt worked since. dont know what to do... any help?

here's the easy thing to try:

with the power off diconnect the mouse
start the pc, let the mouse fail(not found ...), do a shutdown using start, reconnect the mouse, start the pc

if this does not work, please report any mouse related messages during boot up

note: do not connect/disconnect a ps2 mouse with the power on

I tired what you said, but didnt recieve any messages or errors related to the mouse, ive tried different usb ports and that didnt work either...

Check status of mouse in device manager. Also check and update if needed the USB drivers.
