hi,

im really sorry but all that happens is when i click 'save' to desktop it creates an internet file named 404. when i click on this nothin happens! sorry

Please run these two online scans. Make sure they are set to clean automatically:

TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan

You should try to delete any files that these scanners are unable to clean. Then let us know if its working better and what the scans found.

Then scan again with HijackThis and post another log.

I did the online scans but they didnt seem to fix anything. However, the Spybot and Ad aware that i downloaded did. Although, im still having problems getting into my email...

Hi there, and welcome to Geeks To Go!
  • Download CWShredder (there is a link in my signature), unzip it, and save it on the Desktop. Please do not run it yet, though.
    Check it for updates first
  • Run CWShredder be sure to click the "fix" button.
  • Please set your system to show
    all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.









  • Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check mark next to the following, making sure you get them all and not any others by mistake:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapp...rch/search.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://213.159.117.134/index.php
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapp...rch/search.html
    O16 - DPF: {205FF73B-CA67-11D5-99DD-444553540006} (CInstall Class) - http://www.errorguar...ion/Install.cab

    Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
Post back a fresh HijackThis log and we will take another look.

Hello,

Ok i have done that, however 'alg.exe' was definately not present when i rebooted in safe mode. I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem but two errors came up when i rebooted:

hpotdd01.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program.
An Error log is being created.

Problem with Shortcut
Drive or network connection tha the shortcut 'scheduler.ink' refers to is unavailable. Make sure it is properly inserted.

Hi Nick,
Open HJT again please,
click on Config, and then the Backup button
Scroll through and find
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Nqwwqghi] C:\WINNT\system32\alg.exe

Highlight it and click Restore
Close HJT,

Go back to Active scan and run it again please, This time when it has finished, Please copy and paste back what it has found
