I have a Tosiba laptop that when powered on has no display (2yrs old)

Power light comes on, but no images.

I have tried the following after searching the Toshiba and geeks to go website.

1. turned off computer, removed battery, held power for 30 seconds, rebooted..still no image
2. held Fn key and F5, to cycle thru display options (as per Toshiba website)
3. hooked up external display (still nothing)
4. Pushed display pin (still nothing)

I had not been using this laptop for the last 2 weeks (bought a new one), but it was working perfectly before this

It would be unusual on a laptop only 2 years old, but if an external display doesn't work either I'm guessing the laptop's internal video chip is faulty. Only a qualified PC technician would be able to confirm that as laptops are not designed for us to be 'poking around' inside.
