Well I am in need of some freeware that can compress the size of images so that their size is small enough to be allowed on the site.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Might check out several of the free online tools for image compression. Resize Images Online may be what you could use. Here's some free tools: Freeware Downloads

If you're saving files as Bitmap files, these are ridiculously huge. Save them as JPEGs instead.
