I received a HP ze5270 laptop computer with a bad hard drive and I figured that it was cheaper to fix it then to buy one new. I have a few questions...

Are their any limits on the 2.5" mobile hard drive for this computer? Or am I only limited by price?

Also, where can I buy another retainer screw for the hard drive. The retainer clip is missing one screw to hold the hard drive in position.

This laptop came with a 40Gb hard drive initially so it should be able to see any size drive up to 137Gb. The driver dates from 2003/4 on the HP site so there is a chance it may be able to go bigger.

As to retainer screws, you may need a specialist shop depending on the type of screws. However I've often found that laptops originally went out with only three screws holding in the hard drive. but I would argue as long as its held in position by at least two screws on the diagonal, it's usually okay.
