This just started happening today. I'll just be watching a video, or surfing the net and a Windows Generic Host 32 error will pop up. It's one of those send, don't send errors. So I say don't send, and then suddenly my audio driver won't work. I have a SoundMax HD audio driver. When I double click on the speaker icon in the task bar it says there are no mixer devices available.

When I restart everything is ok until the host error appears again.

I tried reinstalling the driver, but that did not work.

Any suggestions?

Try to restore the system to a date before the problem started. If this doesn't help look at this link. They discuss the problem's causes and offer some solutions. One may work for you.
