Hi Everyone

Apologies for making yet another Problem with Nero post (and again if this is in the wrong place) but haven’t got too much knowledge in the area and I’m hoping that someone could help.

Basically I’m having trouble Burning DVDs (both data and movie) with Nero 7 Ultra. We have a load of files on our computer that are clogging up so much space but at least 90% of our attempts at burning them to disc have failed. Even something simple, like transferring a small avi. file over never seems to work. For the record we are using Phillips DVD-R discs but out of the 10 or so attempts, only one has worked. I have the latest error log (will post below) but if you need more information then please let me know.

A friend has said it may be a DMA/PIO problem but I'm not sure what this means?

The message "Burn process failed at 8x" suggests you're burning at too high a speed.

Try dropping the burning speed down to 4x or even 2x and see what happens.

Hi

I tried dropping the speed to 4x but once again it failed :whistling:

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I might be going wrong? This is turning out to be an expensive and frustrating process so would it be better just to buy a new DVD writer drive or would the same problems remain?

Does this only occur with the Philip's branded disks?
Have you tried another brand of disk?
