I bought Office Pro 2007 today because I need to do some work with it today.... [bleep], the setup won't even launch properly.

I get the following message: "Setup did not complete successfully. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Are you serious?

My system is more than capable of loading running the software but I can't even get startup running. Has anyone had a similar problem?

Do you have Service Pack 2 installed? Office 2007 does not install under XP on anything less than XP Service Pack 2.
You can check by clicking on Start -> right-click My Computer -> Properties.
