disappearing cdrom

i have just tried to run my favorite game but for some reason the cd rom aint working and has now dissapeared from my computer and also from the devise manager. please help .

sorted it now. i just scanned for hardware changes and it came back up again. but for some reason it's not reading cdr's . it works fine with audio and dvd. any idea wot it might be ??
