Before you do the repair, let me take a look at a WinAudit report.

Download and run WinAudit on the machine. Save a report in HTML format and e-mail it to me. This will generate three files, you need to send only the file named rightframe.html (right.html on some machines) I'll PM you with my address.

Instructions for generating a WinAudit Report.

I've looked the WinAudit report over and can find none of the software aboard that have been known to cause this problem. I did, however find multiple errors that may be caused by corrupt system files.

Do you have a current backup of your data? I would suggest getting your important documents and other data copied to external or removable media before doing the repair, though the repair installation should not damage the data.

You'll want to select "C: Partition 2 (Windows) [NTFS] 189972Mb (134872 Mb Free)" as the one to repair.

Hi Wannabe 1

There has been a few days and did hear from you, well i have bought an external hard drive a made a back up of everything.
Today i have repaired the windows but something has failed.

Aparentely i have got all my documents and all the "programe files" but on add and remove programes they aren't there, so i will have to install them all over again.

The biggest problem is:
I have being using a wireless router wired connected into this computer (to have wireless on my laptop), today when i was trying to get my internet back, i have followed all the procedures, i have intaled my orange adsl modem (wich worked fine) and them instaled the wireless router, well the computer says that (no cable or router are detected), the router is working, the laptop get internet from this router and the desk top computer where the router are connect can't get an internet connection.
I have called the Netgear for tecnical suport and they said that my computer needs a internal ethernet adapter.
Where can i get it, how could i lose it if it was here yesterday and i am sure that i have never instaled such thing in my computer.

Help please

ps. i have only being connect on the internet to download AVAST antivirus (with the modem connection) and i am running it now and the computer is all ready infected.

The problems i had i thing it is in perfect workinh order.

Thanks in advance
Nat

Sounds like you did a bit more than a repair install... :)

Right click on My Computer and choose "Properties". Click the "Hardware" tab, then the "Device Manager" button. In the list of devices, do you see any yellow ! or ? icons displayed next to a device? If so, what device(s) is marked with the icon?

You need to install all your drivers...start with the chipset drivers.

You may be able to find them at the Mesh Website. If not, I'll see if I can find them using the WinAudit report you sent me.

Start with these Chipset Drivers. These drivers are from the ASUS Website.

Let me know what this takes care of in Device Manager.

Hi

On the device manager there are a few more yellow ! under the other devices:
- Multimedia audio controler
- usb camera
- video controler (vga compatible)

other thing i would like to ask you advise of is:
when i am scrolling down a web site page is scrolls like in slow motion, when i work in dreamweaver it happens the same, i have checked the mouse setings and look well to me (it doesn't happen everywhere, i have just notices in these few things)

Many thanks

Nat,

** As a apprentice sneaks in a few words.

That is expected until you get your video drivers installed.

I am just curious go ahead and look in the folder Program Files. Is your old programs still there? In My Documents is your documents still there?

Do you know what video card you have? If you do not wannabe will help you because he has your computer report.
