my laptop would not turn on the other night, and i had received pop-ups previously telling me my extended battery life is coming to an end. so the other night i ordered a new battery figuring it had finally died. i just got it in the mail yesterday and it worked, but when i woke up it did not turn on. finally it did, but said the battery was discharging. dell won't help me because my warranty is a month over and i don't want to pay $50 for over the phone help. can anyone PLEASE helpme?!

Sounds like a problem with your power cord, not your battery.
