Stubborn VX2 variant - I think

I've been trying to get rid of a VX2 variant (I'm pretty sure) for the past week. SYMPTOMS:
Get the RunDLL error window most(?) of the time after boot:
"C:\WINDOWS\system32\randomfilename.dll, UMONITOR failed to blablabla"
Redirected searchs, unrequested sites, etc...

After reading thru the various posts here, I've tried:
1. HJT - FIX CHECKED
O20 - Winlogon Notify: WebCheck - C:\WINDOWS\system32\o4840elqehqe0.dll
then immediatly after, I
2. HJT - DELETE FILE ON REBOOT
C:\WINDOWS\system32\o4840elqehqe0.dll
3. and allow HJT to re-boot the PC.

Doesn't work. I'm not getting to the root cause (duh...) as the O20 entry and a matching new WIN\sys32\randomfilename continue to re-create themselves during every boot. I can account for all other entries in this log - unless something is hiding behind a valid filename. SideStep is intentional - was loaded 18 months ago - way before these symptoms began.

Hope I'm not barking up the wrong malware tree. HELP! Here's the log...
