Comp lagging when surfing the IE, only IE

It appears to be running something heavy in the background, and im suffering from slight lag purely just surfing the internet. Long load, sudden hang (for about 5 secs) and short period of blank screen when switching from one IE to another IE tab.

Some details i gathered. However i cant download those updates as im not a member of the paid site. Any advice on this?

Internet Explorer 7 can be heavy on system with specs like yours.
As a test, uninstall Internet Explorer 7 from Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs to go back to IE6 and see what happens. You can always reinstall it from Microsoft's site later.

If you have a Dell computer you could use thier update page. driver updates.
This is the preferred way of updating the drivers for your system. (No need to pay)
