three days ago i had that weird blue screen trojan warning thing happen i used the xp backdate thing to return my computers settings to march's. and the blue screen went away. i am also experiences slow loading currently. my old roommate has hacked into my aol account and since her brother is a hacker im worried about my computers overall safety. it is an hp pavillion under 3 yrs old running XP. i went through every step listed in the "read this first" section
panda said it was unable to clean about 8 files and im unsure if the trojan protection worked since my first attempt resulted in an error message. thank you so much for the help.

oh and im not very techno savvy so small baby steps will work the best for me...but i am good at following directions.

it's ok! I promise to take "baby steps" as you said. If it makes you feel any better, about two years ago, I joined a different spyware removal forum, looking for help. I knew virtually nothing about computers, and nothing about Spyware, malware, etc. After I got fixed up, I joined a training program to learn how to help!

i ran the updates. they said i needed 18 of them... then i rebooted made this list and saved it

hi again Tiffany!! Your log still shows that you don't have SP1. I need you to be able to have at least SP1 installed. Check those updates again, and find the update to Service Pack 1 and install it. Then post a fresh HJT log here, and please leave out the spaces in between things!

im sorry for the delay, i tried to download the service pack but it didnt work i guess, then my comp did the auto update for service pack 2 and my windows explorer died. i was able to get that fixed but now it isnt showing service pack two im trying to reach microsoft helpline for this issue. just wanted to et you know why i havent responded

Since you have IE working please go to http://www.howtotell.com (MS website) and click on "Windows Validation Assistant" - Let me know what it tells you after you fill it out!

it was windows explorer that died on me not IE. so should i still do that? i just talked to microsoft and i have service pack one but am not supposed to do 2 till i get the cd in a month

it says that it is indicated that my product is original, dt to anti piracy symbols. but i didnt recieve a cd with my comp at all. the microsoft people said that this was probably where i bought it or the type of pc it was. i have one now from my mother inlaw and my comp has the icon on it (the sticker). im sorry this took me so long i was injured/attacked last night at work (i work in a group home) and i have a concussion... so im disoriented and i think im going to bed. i will follow anythng else up tomorrow... but thank you for your help once again
