C:\WINDOWS\Systems32\Tools\DelFolders.exe does not look like a xp file that would run on startup hence the .exe i think that may be a virus its trying to run but if you have anti virus on your computer it may have removed it to stop it from running but im not sure you'd probably have to ask some one with more computer experiance.

Check Start>All Programs>Start up : and see if there is somthing in there that does not look normal

Also try

Start> Run> "msconfig" > Startup : then look for somthing that doesnt look normal there.

I checked the Start - Prog - Start Up tells me to reboot

I then went into Start - Run - "misconfig" - not in there at all

I was wondering - they say you can fix errors by running your Windows CD again will this help me to regain the error on startup and also the defrag - thanks for trying to help - Lavender18

MSCONFIG is defanatly there =) and yes if that is a windows error it can most probably be repaired by using the windows xp disk

Hello lavender18,

It is a simple typo error misconfig will not work msconfig will.

This file is currently a unknown. If you did not install this program by yourself, I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a HiJackThis Log in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post a HJT log, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
