hi,

After I repaired WinXP (not reinstall) these problems started. Ok so when I turn on the computer, it beeps once (both lights infront of the CPU flashes) and then I get no display on screen at all. After a few seconds the flashing stops and it does nothing.

So what I do is I shut down it (by holding the power button) and then turn it on again. It boots up 1 out of 5 tries. I'm still not sure what the problem is. I think it's hardware but I'm not sure, because I recently changed the whole MoBo, including the RAM and the processor.

BIOS:

American Megatrends Inc.

Specs:
1GB RAM
Dual Core
40GB HD
Win XP

Don't know what to do right now. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

situation like that best guess would be 1) power supply 2) memory 3) video 4) motherboard....

you could try unplugging all but one stick of memory and the video card ( if no on-board video present ) and see if you get any results or try replacing parts in the order above.... ( you could also try reseating the cpu on the motherboard since you say you recently replaced that....) don't forget to clean both the processor and the heatsink and apply new heatsink compound....
