DVD/RW enlclosure

I have recently purchased an external DVD/RW not realising it wa not internal is there anyway to connect this to my laptop? Someone suggested an enlosure but said that it might not work properly would an enclosure work? i would be very greatfully to anyone who knows this :)

If you purchased an external external DVD/RW device, did you purchase one without an enclosure? Without the make/model info, the best I can do is this NewEgg.com Enclosure search. Possibly you'll find one, if you actually need one, within the list. Most connect to your USB port. Don't think all the enclosures come with cables, so check.
