Hi! I am a newbie here and so glad to have found this forum.

I think others here have experienced a similar problem, but I read a sticky thread that said I should open a new post for myself.

My computer has been attacked by Brave Sentry. I keep getting these pop-ups telling me that unauthorized files are being copied on my computer and asking me to download their spyware removal system. I must have installed the program by accidentally pressing yes at some point. Now, I keep getting a pop-up that won't go away whenever I reboot my computer where BS asks me to pay for their license to remove spyware.

Thank God I have mozilla because it attacked my IE browser and everytime I tried to google Brave Sentry removal, I was taken to some other page advertising porn. But now I know that BS is the culprit.

I googled some places find out how to remove and some say that I need to access my Control Panel Add/Delete programs, but it is totally missing from my Start options! Also, when I hit Ctrl/Alt/Delete there is no access to task manager.

I don't know what to do. Please help.

Thanks so much in advance.

OK, I actually read someone else's thread here and downloaded and ran combofix and WinPFind3U.

My computer seems to be a lot better! The desktop background is back to what it used to be (it used to be black), and I see the control panel again. Also, brain sentry seems to be gone.

Do you think everything is completely fixed? I notice that some people post the report logs on here, and I can do that if that will help.

This site was a savior to me.
