Could you find, zip and send this file:
c:\wp.bmp
to this e-mail address including a link to this thread in the body of the email.

Ugh.
My account won't let me send the file because it contains a virus (I use hotmail.) How else can I get it to you?

Oh wait! It'll let me send it unzipped - should I just do that?

Interesting wallpaper
Delete that file you just sent to me from your system. I'm still looking into a registry hack to get your Display back to normal.

Just looked at an XP Home setup and the other entries can go also. Click Start>Run and type regedit in the box >OK
Navigate to this key in the left hand pane:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
Click the System folder in the left hand pane to highlight it, then right click and delete it.
Close Regedit and go to Control Panel>Display. Let me know if you can change your desktop now.

YAY! I can finally change it within the display box!
...but (grr), even though it changes, the flashing beige and white background remains - it's almost like it's over top of my desktop or something, and the new background I changed is hidden behind this pain in the but beige one. Now what?

Hi Daemon,
I had a thought. I just realized that both my parents (who have seperate XP accounts on the same computer as me) both have the Web tab on their Display options, and have different Registry keys than me. Should I maybe just export their reg keys to you, to help you figure out what's different between theirs and mine?
