XP freezes when charging?

My XP keeps freezing shortly after I plug the battery charger in. Ive updated & ran spybot,adaware,ccCleaner,advanced windows care,SUPERantispyware,& a few other programs.Ive ran chkdsk & Ive even replaced the battery charger with a brand new one.
Im currently running in safe mode.In safe mode it never freezes,even when the battery chargers plugged in.
Can anyone please help me fix this?

Heres what Im workin with..
HP Omnibook 6000
XP pro servicepack 2
intel pentium III processor
696MHz
256MBs
