Hi everyone I thought that I might make a quick little post on getting into Game Programming with the Irrlicht engine which Is a engine I have only been using for about 6 months now. First of you need to be proficient in the C++ Language. The best way to do this is by learning from, books, videos, online tutorials and source code. I would suggest C++ for Dummies and http://zeuscmd.com/ (that has heaps of great tutorials. Also have a look at Thinking in C++ which you can either buy or can be downloaded freely just do a quick Google search.

The second thing that is needed for developing games is a really key interest in programming, making and playing games and or applications. If you don't have an interest in this then it is probably not the best path or life forfilling thing for you to do. The third and foremost thing you need is a API or Application Programming Interface which will allow you to manipulate 3d images on the screen.

Now for this we are going to need the Irrlicht Engine which can be found at http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net
Go there and download the opensource API which runs on any operating system then to get started goto my tutorial where I explain more in-depth about the irrlicht engine and how it can be used.

Hope you enjoyed this short tutorial I will leave you with some Pictures and My Website
