Can anyone help me out? I've been experiencing a VERY slow startup recently.

This is my install list if it matters. Also, I've just recently cleaned my computer with the help of Essexboy. =) So there's no suspection of a virus behind. Can anyone suggest me of what to uninstall? Thank you.

A slower startup than 'normal' is usually caused by items which are set to start when Windows starts, rather than by the number of applications installed -- although there is a connection between the two inasmuch as the more applications you install, the more components you are likely to have which do start with Windows, if you follow my drift.

Without knowing what your startup items list consists of it's impossible to advise you on which of them are safe to disable, and it's disabling these which will have a direct impact on speeding up Windows' loading time.

As items can be started from two main locations (either from your 'Startup' folder or from the Windows 'Registry') it's often difficult to know how many there are in total and what they are. However, I see you already have 'Ccleaner' installed. If you click it's 'Tools' button, then 'Startup' , it lists all your startup items in one window regardless of where they are started from.

Another area which can increase Windows' loading time is the number of 'Services' which are also set to 'start automatically'. However, some of them are vital to the running of Windows and your internet connection, so you need some authoritative source for guidance on which services are vital and which are not. I should add that those services you can safely disable will depend on whether you have SP2 installed or not.

Oh. Then, how should I get a startup list? I can get a screenshot, but I can't get a list. I got the installed programs list from CCleaner though. If that piece of info helps.

Click Start > Run. Type msconfig and go to startup. Uncheck everything which is not related to security programs. If your computer is a laptop leave also those items that are related directly to the operation of the computer. Confirm and reboot. When you get a message before bootup ends just check it and finish booting.

The items you have in startup can be started either automatically (when the boxes are checked) or manually (when the boxes are not checked) by clicking an icon or your desktop or from your program list. Automatic startup takes time and unnecessary resources. You can check any box back in the future by reating the process (start > run etc.).

As for your list as programs, it is entirely to your choice. Programs tend to accumulate during time. If you wish to clean some chose those that you know for sure that you want to be removed. Also, by marking a program in the list in control panel > Add/remove programs, you can see at the side when last it was used and how often. This can help you to make a decision. Do not remove updates. If in doubt, better leave then remove a program.

Startup list is easily seen on ccleaner: tools/startup
Any unneeded startup programs deleted there.
This does not remove the programs only changes startup programs.

The only programs really needed at startup are the firewall and anti-virus programs.

Only you can determine what programs you need and use.
It looks like you have a few duplicates. Keeping most recent version usually adequate.
