Good morning

I have had a problem over the last few weeks which started off with AUPD.exe popping up frequently on PC. Since that point I have had an issue with laptop running very slowly, Skype disconnecting without warning etc.

The PC has now been given a clean bill of health by the malware team (link below) but is still going v slow. I have also done the basics ie stopping programmes in startup, remove unwanted software etc.

As a last throw of the dice I wondered whether you had any other good ideas or whether this now means a reinstall.

Thanks

Download: CCleaner (freeware)
http://www.majorgeek...wnload4191.html
Run the installer, and UNCHECK the option to install Yahoo toolbar
(unless you want Yahoo toolbar).
Once installed, run CCleaner click the Windows [tab]
Select the following:
Posted Image
Next: click Options click the Settings tab
Uncheck: "Only delete files older than 48 hrs.", click Ok
Then click Run Cleaner (bottom right) then Exit

After doing that, download Auslogics Disk Defrag
http://www.auslogics.com/disk-defrag/

Defrag and reboot/restart your computer.

Take a look at BlackViper's recommendations for disabling unneeded services:
