I recently reinstalled windows xp on my desktop. Everything seemed to be fine. I had been getting windows updates automatically. Shortly after I reinstalled xp I received an update, however it wouldn't intall the update. I went to the microsoft site, I got the message that there are available updates, but they wouldn't install. Same thing with "Windows Defender", I get a message to update, but then it can't do it.
My software is legal, I entered the registration code. Clearly, I am missing something or did something wrong, but I am darned if I can figure it out.
I'd be grateful for some coaching on this. Thanks & regards

Can you elaborate further on your problem so I can help you? Giving a brief description can't really help out.
