I have a number of usb drives and a card reader I use on my Vista Business machine. If my computer has been on for a while and I plug in a USB device the computer freezes. I have to push the reset button on my case to get back in. I know there was a Vista patch for this and I downloaded it, it worked for a day maybe. Does anyone know a way around this issue?

My computer
AMD 64X2 running around 2.2Ghz
3GB DDR RAM
4 back USB ports, 1 front port
Windows Vista Business w/ all updates

Are you using the Latest Vista USB Drivers for your Motherboard? Also this problem maybe related with the BIOS. I had a similar problem on my Windows XP system and after playing around a little bit with USB Settings from the BIOS i managed to get it to work.
