Can't browse but can ping

PC is windows XP Pro. 2+ghz tower 512mb ram-

I have been using the standard ad-aware / spybot regularly.
The pc is rarley used for internet browsing.

Yesterday I did a full norton scan, it found 4 objects, removed 1 - (all were malware) - i manualy removed 3 objects 2 were .exe (ndn*) and 1 .dll file.

Shortly after that i was unable to browse the internet, also i can not unc browse to other pcs on the local network.

I can ping myself, and my gateway, i can also ping by dns name IE www.yahoo.com - all resolve and come pack with ping times.

I have used the LSPFIX.exe and teh winsockXPfix.exe

Any recomendations?

Also - the computer will not shut down properly anymore .. "saving settings" hangs
