I am unable to open Microsoft Works 4.0 to print off my husband's resume. I spent 3 hours working on his resume 2 weeks ago and now need to print it off for a job opportunity. When I click to open the program I get this message:


The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'Microsoft Works 4.0.Ink' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again.

I can't insert the disk because the driver is broken. This is my old computer.. Internet Explorer 6.0/windows 98. I just need to find a way, if possible, to open Microsoft Works 4.0 to get my husband's resume.

I'm so sorry.. I was in such a hurry when I created my post above. The disk tray is broken and the computer will no longer read disks.

Does Works typically require you to have the CD in the drive?

Anyway, that's less important then getting the resume.....

This program used to be able to read (not edit) MWworks files, though I do not know for certain if it will read msworks 4 files.

No, Work never required me to have the cd in the drive.
