Okay so i recently got a new laptop and i was excited because finally i might find a computer where my COD will work.

So i install it, everythings fine, i go into singleplayer, everything working, go into multiplayer, working except that im not getting any servers. So i exit thinking i might not have my connection i check and a popup from windows sais, do you wish to allow this game to acces internet, i click yes and it exits. I try opening up MUltiplayer a gain except this time a popup appears when the game is loading saying CODMP.exe has stopped working correctly, Windows is searching for a solution then after a few secnds, it closes down and another popup comes and it says, " Windows has not found a problem but will notify you if a solution appears" Then closes down the program. Now i do not know why this has happened.

I try re installing it, with two different copies ( not illegal ), restarting the computer, Firewall. Anything i can think of, anybody have any ideas?

k so i got a new video card for my comp and installed COD 1 and beat the single player.. but it will not let me start up multiplayer! it keeps saying that microsoft dowsnt support call of duty.. even though i can play the single player mode.. please help

Try this, go to my computer>control panel>windows firewall>click the exceptions tab> then click add program. Find Call Of Duty, and double click it. Try call of duty again, if it still doesn't work post your system specs here.

Okay, I was just browsing older posts and found this:

search your computer for "codmp.exe"
after you find it, right-click and select "properties"
check-mark the box which says "read-only", and click "apply"
if a window pops up, click "ignore"
then click "ok"

If that doesn't work try this:

First, leave your computer on and don't do anything at all for about 3 minutes. Then, after writing down what time the computer says it is, start up CoD Multiplayer (Call of Duty Multiplayer). After the error appears, make sure the program closes completely and write down the time again. After waing for the time on the computer to change, go to the next step. You do all this so you know that all the programs that were active during this time are related to CoD Multiplayer.
Now all you have to do is go to the start menu and click search. Then click "all files and folders". Do not type in a name for the search, but under the question "When was it modified, click "specify dates" and make sure it has today's date in both boxes. Click search and wait for it fo finish.
All the results appear should also include a date and time in the "last modified on" column. All the programs that were last modified within the times that you ran CoD are the ones related to it. Delete all these programs, and make sure that one of the ones you delete is CoDMP.exe.
After this, start a new search, and this time, search for anything named "Cookies". Delete everything in the cookies folders. Then close the window, and delete the CoD folder in your programs and all the shortcuts of CoD you have. Next, go to the Control Panel and click "Add or Remove Programs". Find Call of Duty in the list and remove it.
Finally, close the window and re-install Call of Duty.

WOW Thanks man!! the first thing worked takin it off the firewall!! i didnt even know it was blocked.. i also made sure it was not read onlly so now it works just fine!!! thanks again man

K. so my computer was working fine up until a day or two ago and now it will restart while loading a map or it will say that a runtime error occured for an abnormal termination of CoDMP.exe
i have windows xp, 512mb of ram, 996mhz and a Nvidea geforce 7600gt superclocked video card
i have no idea whats wrong but it only started about a week after i started codmp

Me too because for some reason i have beat the single player and then when ever i start to play the multiplayer they say something about my CD Key. Then i fix my CD Key, and then for some reason i still cant play and stuff. Its riducoulous and now i tried agian this came up

i neeed help also my call od duty freezes up online after 10 mins it has even happend the first 30 seconds! just freezes up then i have to shut call of duty down with task manager it has done it on my xp machine and now its doing it on my windows 7 computer i shut my firewall off everything nothing seems to work just freezes up upon game play no error messages nothing please help
