PPS: Where do you plan to buy from? Any sites in mind? I usually use Newegg but I do not think they ship to South Africa.

You're correct, they don't ship outside the USA. I spoke to one of their consultants and unfortunately they couldn't help me. But no worries, I'm sure Amazon.com or a similar site will ship to my country. Otherwise, I can buy it locally from Take2.co.za, but it will cost me a little more since hardware in the USA is a lot cheaper than in South Africa.

Here is the Asus card. It goes for around $160 in my country.

Then there is the Point-of-View card, which goes for around $170 in my country.

The Chaintech is the cheapest, (about $150). This one interested me but since you did not recommend them as a good manufacturer, I'd rather go for the Asus card, even though it's not very visually appealing.

Are there any other International websites which offer cheaper prices than the average store? I can get the same cards from America for about $40 less.

I refer you to James' post:

This card will blow all other cards out of the water, near it's price range.

If cannot spend more then ~130$ then I suggest the following. That would beat any DX10 budget DX10 card.

If you are only willing to spend that much, get the second card he suggested. If you are willing to pay a bit more, get the first card he suggested. The 8600GT is not a good choice for playing games like the ones you listed.

I'm not a big fan of ATI, nor am I sure if it will be as effective plugged into my mobo since I have an NForce chipset. Why is the 8600GT not a good card? Salespersons in most stores recommend it above all?

Salespersons will say anything to make a sale. It's their job.

The 8600GT isn't a good gaming card for the same reason a Toyota Prius isn't a good racing car. It just doesn't have what it takes under the hood.

How about the 8600GT XXX Edition, or the 8600GTS?
