While playing games i get a lag spike for maybe 2-5seconds every 30-60 seconds. At first i thought i could live with it, but it has gotten way to annoying. Anyways i play the game jedi academy, on many mods. and as i said i get lag spikes which makes it very annoying. I recently go a new computer for christmas (That runs on Vista). And a wirless internet. We bought the "Compact Wireless-G USB adapter. which connects to the "linksys wireless G broadband router ( model WRT54G). I've tryed may things to fix this such as
''Manually:
Set up a batch/script file that runs as admin
Place the following line in that batch file:
netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="Wireless Network Connection"
To find the name of the network open a command prompt and type:
netsh wlan show settings
Set up a 2nd batch/script file that runs as admin:
Place the following line in that batch file:
netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=yes interface="Wireless Network Connection"
Prior to running any MMO launch the first batch file. After finishing up (or after a reboot) run the 2nd batch file. Because after a reboot if you haven't already run the 2nd you will not have internet connectivity until you re-enable WLAN.
Semi-Automated:
Download the Vista Anti-Lag applet found here:
http://www.codecase.de/]http://www.codecase.de/
(Note: Site is in german). Run this application prior to launching a game. Enable the anti-lag then play to your hearts content. Before rebooting the system exit the application. (Application MUST be left running in the background). Enabling the anti-lag basically does the same things as above but the program does it for you. When you close the program it automatically resets the values so you don't have to. ''
Which i found on one site. I also tryed changing the wireless channel from 6 to 9 to 11. None of that worked. If you need any more information, i'dbe happy to post it.
If you can think of something i'd ve bery happy, thanks.
