Hey everyone,
I've run Ad-Aware, Spybot, and my virus scan, and this thing just won't go away. Ad-Aware catches it and defines it as "lop" and will let me remove it, but as soon as it's been removed, it comes back again.

It surfaces in the guise of a little menu bar, right above my start menu and taskbar. When I try to close it, it won't close - it's always open and it just won't die.

Hi davecito,

You came to the right place. :tazz:

First off: I would advise you to uninstall MessengerPlus. It probably came bundled with this pest and it will return should you choose to upgrade to a newer version.
You can find at their forums (or other places on the web) how to install it without "the sponsors", which is perfectly legal.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.sdlcfucml...rxUs40FVep.html

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {09553339-7DE5-307B-8F2F-B2EF0B8CE41F} - C:\DOCUME~1\Dave\APPLIC~1\2KIND~1\CreativeBib.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Plus Mix Atom Idle] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Citymessplusmix\Drivelist.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [load browse] C:\DOCUME~1\Dave\APPLIC~1\LOGDRI~1\OptionFilm64.exe

Reboot into safe mode and delete:
C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Application Data\2KIND~1 <= path abbreviated, delete the folder that contains CreativeBib.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Citymessplusmix <= entire folder
C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Application Data\LOGDRI~1 <= path abbreviated, delete the folder that contains OptionFilm64.exe

Download and unzip to one folder:
http://metallica.gee...om/gettasks.zip

Inside the folder find gettasks.bat

Doubleclick it and it will create the file C:\tasks.txt
Find that file and copy the content into your next post.
Also post a new HijackThis log.

Regards,

Pieter
