I posted to a different forum last week and one of the GTG admins stated that he noticed Malware in my HJT log and told me to post here. Anyway here is the story.

Last week I downloaded Windows SP2, 100's of other Windows updates and Mcafee AV onto a perfectly running PC. I needed to do this because I am working remotely for a new client and there network scans my PC to make sure I am running SP2 and AV software before allowing the connection. Since that time all Windows functions, i.e opening Word, notepad, Excel, copy and paste etc are taking almost two full minutes. When this occurs the system idle process hogs out the CPU, I do not see anything else competing for resources. There are small periods where the problem seems to go away for a short period of time but even then it is not as fast as it was pre-download.

Anyway, one of the moderators looked at this log and saw Malware, not sure where but can we make sure that isn't part of the problem. If anyone thinks they know the culprit please chime in, I'm leaning to SP2 personally.
