Hi I need some help uninstalling my printer. i have installed it a couple of times & none of them work when I try to uninstall it tells me I have to wait until the printer is finished printing. I am also having trouble uploading photos from the computer to places to get them printed. if you have any tips for that it would be great. i have been through the Malware section & was told all of my logs were clear but these problems are still around

What is the make and model of the printer. I had a heck of a time with my brothers new HP All-in-one. Finally ended up calling HP and they walked me through running a batch file in the UTIL directory of the install CD. That cleaned it up then I was able to install.

Hi,
The printer that will only allow you to "pause printing" does not have any documents waiting to print.
I am confused, you have 4 printers and are trying to uninstall 1 of them? (so you can reinstall it?)
Please explain in more detail of which printer is the issue and what exactly is your desired outcome.

I have 1 printer but the program for it has been installed 4 times so it says in the printers & faxes that I have Lexmark, Lexmark 1,2&3 where #3 was the only one working for a while now none will work. if i try to print it just says an error has occured. I want to uninstall all of the copies & reinstall 1 that works but when trying to uninstall it says I must wait until printing is finished. sorry if it's confusing

OK, now I understand what has happened. Make sure that you are logged in as administrator,
  • please unplug the printer from the computer
  • click on the start button
  • select control panel
  • open printers and faxes
  • right click on a"printer"
  • select delete
  • do this for each printer
  • do not keep any pending print jobs
  • close printers and faxes
  • open add and remove programs
  • uninstall all of the printer software that you see
  • reboot the machine
Thank you.

Are you sure that you are logged in as administrator?
Please reboot the computer and THEN plug the printer back in, do not install any software at this time please.
What I am looking for is if the computer sees the printer as new hardware.
Please let me know.
Thank you.
