My anti-virus program tells me that I have a virus that it cannot delete. Running through the additional steps suggested by the website were no good either. The problem seems to be coming from a file C:\WINDOWS\system32\kec5siiph8.dll The resulting blue screen says it is from Trojan-spy.HTML.Smitfraud.c I have tried to remove the file in safe mode with no luck. The Toshiba Support says I need to remove the OS and start over. Here is my hijackthis log. Thanks for the help.

Looks like a cross between about:blank and CoolWebSearch with a worm thrown in. May take a bit of work to clean this one but let's see if we are lucky.

Get a copy of winsockxpfix.exe before you do anything. This is just a safety
item in case you can't get on the internet afterwards. You just run it and
things should work OK after it reboots your system.

http://www.iup.edu/h...net/winfix.shtm

Also download and install ccleaner.exe from http://www.ccleaner.com. Don't let
it clean anything yet.

Now shutdown and reboot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key when you see the PC maker's logo.
Keep tapping until it tells you it is going to Safe Mode or you see the Safe
Mode menu. Select the top option.

Run HijackThis and just do a Scan only. Check the following and then Fix
Checked.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://letgohome.com/sp.htm?id=9

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Control handler] C:\WINDOWS\System32\pt7j7dtdvvn2thd.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [iedll] c:\WINDOWS\iedll.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [loader] c:\WINDOWS\loader.exe

O20 - AppInit_DLLs: chc8kd6ygpv.dll

Now run ccleaner.exe. On the first page, uncheck everything but the two lines
that have the word Temporary in them then Run Cleaner.

Reboot into normal mode, run another HijackTHis and post the log and let's see if we had any luck.
